Educational
Assistance Programs for Employees - USF offers several employee
educational assistance programs at reduced costs. For employees
appointed to an established position who have completed 6 months
of USF service, and who are expected to remain employed through
the final exam date will be reimbursed up to 4 credit hours of classes.
The employee must have completed the 6 months of employment prior
to registration period.
Insurance
- This site provides a summary of the insurance benefits available
to USF employees, including accidental death and dismemberment,
dental, health, life, and supplemental insurance.
Leave
Benefits - This site provides a summary of the leave-related
benefits including, but not limited to leave accruals, sick leave
pool, donation of sick leave, and holidays.
Credit
Union - Employees are eligible to join the USF Federal Credit
Union which is located on the Tampa Campus. Available services include
share drafts, direct deposit of pay warrants, payroll deductions
for savings and loan payments, safety deposit boxes, ATM service,
etc. Contact the USF Federal Credit
Union for additional information. Payroll deduction through
the Credit Union is available for USF employees in the Sarasota
area. Contact the credit unions directly for additional information.
Discounts
- Your USF Staff ID opens up a world or opportunities. Just present
your staff ID to your campus Human Resources or Personnel Office
for a discount package containing cards offering discounts for a
variety of goods and services in the community. The types and availability
of discounts may vary from time to time. The following is only a
sample of the discount programs that are available: Busch Gardens,
Cypress Gardens, Disney World and EPCOT Center, Sea World, Universal
Studios, and other various attractions and business discounts. Contact
Human Resources for a complete list of current discount packages.
Employee
Assistance Program (EAP) - The Counseling Center for Human Development
provides direct professional services to USF faculty and staff through
the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP is designed to provide
employees with specific assistance in resolving or reducing personal,
family, or work place problems. All information is confidential.
Services are provided by professionals employed by the University
or within the community. Employees and family members residing in
the employee's household are eligible for services. There is no
cost for services provided directly by an EAP counselor. If an external
referral is made, the EAP counselor will assist the employee in
making the best use of his or her health insurance or HMO coverage.

Recreation
Center - Campus Recreation offers a health club on the Tampa
campus. Annual membership fees are considerably less than those
required by private health clubs. Click HERE for more information.
In
addition to the benefits listed above Law Enforcement Officer also
receive the following benefits:
LAW ENFORCEMENT INCENTIVE PAY: Upon
being certified by Florida Criminal Justice Standards, University
Police Officers become eligible for additional monthly salary of
up to $130 based upon completed higher education and/or career development
courses.
UNIFORM MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE: This
allowance provides an additional $525 annually for shoes and uniform
cleaning.
Equipment Issued: All uniforms and equipment
will be supplied, with the exception of shoes.
OTHER BENEFITS: (Noncontributory) Public Safety Officers Benefits Act provides a $150,000 life insurance
policy. Special Risk Retirement
allows officers to retire after 25 years of continuous creditable
service regardless of age. The
State of Florida provides a $50,000 Death/Disability policy. Workers’ Compensation Program available for work-related Injury.
