USFPD Marine Unit

With seven miles of heavily used navigable waterways in our jurisdiction open to the public on the Hillsborough River, the USFPD Marine Unit officers patrol for operator and equipment violations, search and rescue, and identification of waterway hazards. The Marine Unit, under mutual aid, assists other bay area law enforcement marine units in joint enforcement efforts on the waterways throughout Hillsborough County. The USFPD Marine Unit issues citations and arrests violators, to include a BUI (Boating Under the Influence) arrest in 2007.
