| The
University of South Florida Police Department (USFPD) is organized into
components and divisions, each managed by a member of the Command Staff.
The Command Staff is comprised of sworn members of the rank of Lieutenant
or above who report through an established chain-of-command to the Chief
of Police (Director of Public Safety).
The
Administrative Division includes the Chief, administrative support staff,
and the Professional Standards Manager (Accreditation).
The
Operations component is under the direction of Operations Commander (Captain)
who manages both the Patrol Division (uniform) and the Criminal Investigations
Division (plain clothes). The Patrol Division includes the following:
Uniform Patrol section, Bicycle Squad, Marine Unit, and the Health Science
Center police detachment. The Patrol and Investigations divisions are
responsible for criminal investigation of all misdemeanors, felonies,
traffic law enforcement, and traffic crash investigations on University
property.
The
Support Services component is under the direction of the Administrative
Captain. One Lieutenant manages the Records, Communications, and Public
Information sections. Another Lieutenant manages the Crime Prevention,
Training, and Special Events sections.
These
divisions are staffed by dedicated and professional members who work together
to provide the best possible law enforcement service to the community.
We invite you to take a few moments to visit each of the areas listed
in the Divisions menu.
