Functions of the Communications Center:
The purpose of the Communications section is to
meet the immediate information needs of the agency as well as the
normal routine activities. Communication personnel process and dispatch
emergency and normal calls for service received from the public
and other law enforcement agencies as well walk-in calls. The Communications
Room as well as the whole agency is a 24-hour access facility and
can be reached for calls of service within their jurisdiction and
surrounding streets around the campus including 911 calls which
can also be directed to the appropriate agency if needed. In addition
to monitoring officer safety while they are out in the field, the
Communications personnel also monitor campus alarms and our blue
light emergency phones. Tours of the Communications Center can be
conducted with permission from the on the on-duty supervisor. For
