While conducting a separate
burglary investigation, Tampa Police Detective JD O’Nolan obtained a taped
confession from Martino admitting to stealing four laptops from the USF
Sun Dome. A joint investigation conducted by USFPD and Tampa Police recovered
an Apple laptop at 4113 E. Linebaugh Ave., Apt. 406, Tampa, which was determined
to have been stolen from the USF Fine Arts Building. The $2900.00 laptop
was recovered and returned to Fine Arts. On October 9, 2007 USFPD charged
Martino with Burglary and 4 counts of Grand Theft. The four Apple laptops
stolen from the Sun Dome have not been recovered. Each laptop may still
have the sports editing software for the USF women’s basketball team on
the computer. If anyone has any information concerning this, they are asked
to call USFPD at 813-974-2628.
