Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of Sexual Batteries within the county. These 4 sexual batteries have occurred between the boundaries of Nebraska Avenue to Bruce B. Downs Blvd. and Fowler Avenue to Bearss Avenue. These cases date back to August of 2003, with the most recent occurring on August 19, 2007. At this time, three of the four cases have all been linked to the same suspect via DNA results which were received this week. The August 19, 2007 case has not been linked with DNA but the suspect’s modus operandi is consistent with the other cases.
In each of the sexual batteries, the suspect gains entry into the residence via unlocked windows during the early morning hours between 2:30 and 6:00 a.m. The suspect is described by the victim’s as having a distinct foul odor emanating from his body. He is believed to be traveling on foot or possibly a bicycle. His attire usually consists of dark pants and shirt and has been barefooted.
The suspect is described as being a black male between the ages of 20 – 30, approximately 5’6” 150 lbs. to 200 lbs. His hair may be shaved or covered by an unknown covering, possibly a beanie. He has a mark on the upper portion of his forearm near his left wrist. This mark may be a birth mark, scar or some type of skin disorder with dimensions described as half an inch in width and 2-3 inches in length, which is lighter in pigmentation than the suspect’s skin.
All four victims are black females ranging in age from 24 to 37.
Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477. |
