Alert#: 2006-002
Offense: Attempted Robbery
Location: Sigma Nu House
On July 26, 2006 at approx. 12:30 pm, two males gained entry into the Sigma Nu Fraternity house and attempted to force their way into a resident's room brandishing a firearm. The victim was able to close the door and call 911. A broken window was discovered on the north side of the Sigma Nu house. No injuries were reported.
Description:
Suspect 1 - B/M 19-22; years of age; 5`9 tall; dark complexion scraggly goatee wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and long shorts.
Suspect 2 - H/M 18-20 years of age; 5`11 tall, skinny The black male suspect displayed the gun.
The suspects did not gain entry and fled the scene in a yellow Saturn.
Anyone with any information should call the USF Police Department at 813-974-2628.
Residents are reminded to make sure outer doors completely close
behind them when they leave, never prop an exterior door to a building, use
the Safe Team when traversing campus at night and when possible do not travel
across campus alone. Please report broken blue light emergency phones, broken
locks on doors, and burnt out lights to the appropriate maintenance department.
