COMMUNITY CRIME ALERT

Date of Alert: May 19, 2005 Alert#: 2005-001 Offense: Burglary/Theft

The University of South Florida Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating an incident that occurred on May 18, 2005 at approximately 1:50 pm. A subject was video taped entering an office in the HSC complex and removing cash from a purse located behind the desk. Description B/M 35-40yrs 5-7 to 5-9 180 lbs high forehead w/short cropped blk hairdark complexion LSW---white t-shirt with Logo "Thunder Bay" on front and back, medium color blue jeans covered with some type on dust. When asked by staff if he needed assistance he stated that he was looking for the Medical Clinics, or VA Hospital. Subject wandered around the area for approx. 25 minutes. Witnesses stated that he was very "Believable" and was appreciative for their assistance. If spotted DO NOT APPROACH Notify the University Police at 974-2628 or 911.
